Researchers have created a map that can help gauge the risk level of gatherings depending on the county where the event is held and the size of the event.
The map estimates the chance (0-100%) that at least one COVID-19 positive person will be present at the gathering based on the data.
The map takes into account seroprevalence data, or antibody testing, as well as estimated COVID-19 testing frequency in each area.
The COVID-19 Event Risk Assessment Planning Tool was created by researchers at the Georgia Institute of Technology along with others at Stanford and the Applied Bioinformatics Laboratory.
Experts remind users to mitigate risk by taking precautions such as wearing masks, social distancing and gathering outdoors in smaller groups.
