Cox’s abortion stance may
impact state high court
Re: “No KOs in lone governor debate” (Page A1, Oct. 9):
Since John Cox has refused to answer questions about his views on social issues, voters must let history be their guide. Cox has stated that his mother was a victim of rape at the hands of his biological father yet in 2006 Cox said he believes a woman who becomes pregnant through rape or incest should be forced to carry that pregnancy to term: “I think that anyone who has a rape and incest exception to abortion really hasn’t thought it through, killing the baby is not going to absolve the crime of rape.”
California Supreme Court justices are appointed by the governor. It is fundamental that voters know Mr. Cox’s stance on these issues.
