Letter: Immigrants get Medi-Cal while rest of us struggle

Immigrants get Medi-Cal
while rest of us struggle

Re: “Legislature approves $214.8B budget” (Page B1, June 14):

I understand that the state of California has a surplus in funds only to have our Legislature newly appointed governor appropriate these hard-earned monies. Our U.S. citizens, our seniors and homeless are left to struggle.

I cannot understand why undocumented and illegal immigrants will prosper with Medi-Cal and health benefits when the rest of us struggle with higher rates and cuts to medical benefits.

This budget is unbalanced. The scale is tipping in the wrong direction. How do you justify this equation?

It has been too long with what seems to be no control, no rules and no accountability regarding the people that enter and exit our borders. If there had been some type of laws in place to control entry and a set time frame within which citizenship had to be attained, we could have controlled that population. Instead, we have an excessive overflow of families draining the system.
