Protesters spreading virus
won’t help Livermore reopen

Re: “Photos: Save our Town rally held in Livermore” (Eastbaytimes.com, May 16):

The protesters who rallied last Saturday in Livermore blatantly disrespected the rules of social distancing and wearing a mask when less than 6 feet apart.

We all want businesses to be open again and to go back to normal life, but how does potentially spreading the virus that causes COVID-19 help toward this common goal?

The way to reopen businesses safely is by planning and organizing it with the city and the county Public Health Department, and to consider what has been previously done in other cities and countries where the virus has hit first.

I am very sad and worried that what I think is a minority of people in Livermore and surroundings might have badly harmed our dear city.
