Letter: Recent court ruling puts future of Affordable Care Act at risk

Uphold ACA for small
business, entrepreneurs

Re: “Trump’s Obamacare replacement still elusive” (Page A13, Jan. 5):

Once again, the future of the Affordable Care Act is unclear after a recent ruling from a federal appeals court, a decision that has huge implications for job creators.

That’s because the ACA has enabled countless entrepreneurs and small business employees to access quality and affordable health care, many for the first time.

Since the law made it easier for the self-employed to obtain their own coverage, many more aspiring entrepreneurs have been able to go out on their own to start new ventures now that their health care isn’t tied to an employer.

And the growth in small business health care costs is at its lowest in years. Creating more chaos and confusion over the future of the ACA will only serve to cause health care costs to rise and create economic instability.

The constitutionality of the ACA must be upheld for the good of our entrepreneurs and small business community.
