Rep. DeSaulnier hailed for
signing on to Global Fund
A solitary ordinary signature, in support of a cause, will unconvincingly stand as representing the consensus of the populace, and unlikely propel a social movement. But when joined by many others, as was recently executed by Republicans and Democrats supporting H.Res. 517, the sixth replenishment of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, incredible accomplishments can be achieved.
At a conference in Lyon, France, on Oct. 9 and 10, world leaders focused on the fight against AIDS, TB and malaria.
The U.S. Congress committed to $4.68 billion from the United States toward the Global Fund over the next three years, with a combined total of $14 billion in pledges including other world leaders. Since 2002, the Global Fund has remarkably helped save 32 million lives.
Thank you Rep. DeSaulnier for your individual and far-from-ordinary signature supporting H.Res. 517, as it will help the lives of millions more.
