Re: “Skelton: All vote-by-mail elections after COVID-19? Get used to it” (Opinion section, Mercurynews.com, April 17):
I am motivated in part by George Skelton’s column as well as by President Donald Trump’s determined efforts to shut down the U.S. Postal Service.
One of the reasons Trump wants to shut down the post office is because he is under the mistaken idea that if mail-in voting is adopted, it will benefit the Democrats. Facts refute that, of course.
Especially during this COVID-19 pandemic, in-person voting, such as just occurred in Wisconsin, is unconscionable! It threatens every voter’s health.
While Trump does his best to destroy the post office, we must do our best to prevent that from happening. We must write our senators and representatives; tell them to keep the U.S. Postal Service viable!
Letter: We must stop Trump from destroying USPS
