A MUM has revealed how she managed to revamp her child’s bedroom for just £40 by using her son’s hand and footprints.
Jeanette Boyce shared her incredible idea online, adding that it was all the more “fun” as she was able to create the mural with her son, Archie.
Posting on Facebook group Extreme Budget DIY & Life Hacks, Jeanette shared snaps of her woodland scene in the bedroom, featuring grass, bees and trees.
But if you look closer, you can see the artwork was created by the three-year-old’s tiny feet and hands.
Jeanette, from Somerset, used her son’s footprint to create a bee, handprints to create the tree leaves, and said she had plans for handprint butterflies as well.
She posted: “My son’s bedroom that cost about £40 in paint.
“We had great fun doing this.
“He done his bit with a hand print tree and foot print bumblebees… (still to do handprint butterflies).”
Her post has been liked more than 700 times, as fellow mums praised her handiwork and how she managed to include her son in the renovation.
Jeanette added: “We both enjoyed every min of it.
“And hardly spent a penny really.”
People are going wild for her idea online, with one parent saying: “So want to do something like this in my boys room but not very good at painting.”
Another wrote: “Love that your little ones had an input.”
A third said: “This is amazing! I love the personal touch to it with the hands and feet.”
Someone else commented: “I absolutely love this, especially the tree and the bees!”
Agreeing, this person added: “I love the hand print tree.”
Others called it “brilliant”, “amazing” with one person going as far as to call it the “best bedroom” they’ve ever seen.
