Sammy Hagar has announced a star-studded lineup for his sixth annual Acoustic-4-A-Cure benefit concert at The Fillmore.
The famed Red Rocker will be joined on May 15 in San Francisco by Tom Johnston (The Doobie Brothers), Chad Kroeger (Nickelback), Lukas Nelson, Joe Satriani, Rick Springfield, Nancy Wilson (Heart) and Sammy Hagar & The Circle, featuring Michael Anthony, Jason Bonham and Vic Johnson.
“For me, each year is better than the next,” Hagar says in a news release. “This year’s lineup (as usual) is eclectic and packed with talent. I’m so looking forward to being part of the chemistry of all these artists being in the same room for the night and creating something very unique, for those special music fans that support this impactful event each year.”
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. March 22, www.livenation.com. Each ticket purchased will include one CD or digital copy of Sammy Hagar & The Circle’s new album “Space Between.”
The concert benefits the Pediatric Cancer Program at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital.
Previous Acoustic-4-A-Cure concerts have featured Billie Joe Armstrong, Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo, Jerry Cantrell, Kevin Cronin, Melissa Etheridge, Mick Fleetwood, Dave Grohl, James Hetfield, Tommy Lee, Taj Mahal, Sarah McLachlan, Pat Monahan, Linda Perry, Chad Smith, Adam Sandler and Bob Weir.
