According to Wednesday’s end-of-day totals on California public health websites, there were 1,559 new cases of the coronavirus reported in the state, bringing the total number of cases so far to 3,711,751.
There were 57 new deaths reported statewide Wednesday, April 28, for a total of 61,234 people who have died from COVID-19.
Hospitals saw an decrease of four patients on Wednesday, raising the total number of people presently hospitalized with coronavirus-related illness to 2,068. That’s 26 fewer patients than the previous day.
According to the California Department of Public Health, 28.7 million vaccine doses have been administered in the state and 29.6% of residents are now fully vaccinated.
